Halladay

The Reds lose game one of the Post Season to Roy Halladay pitching a no hitter.  What a class act he is.  I hated to see the Reds lose but watching this guy pitch was quite a thrill.  So Kudos to Roy Halladay!

Get Sketchy #58

Here is my card for the Get Sketchy Challenge (#58).  I stuck with my own style and made another flower using  hearts.  I chalked it with Bordering Blue from Stampin Up.    My other supplies are:

The Paper is DCWV and I used Recollections Pearl Stickers.  The Ink is Stampin Up Mellow Moss and the Stamp is also from Stampin Up.  Last but not least, the ribbon is from Micheals.

A Wonderful Visit!

Today I went to visit a very good friend.  Diane has been ill for over a year now, suffering from a debilitating virus.  She seems to get worn out very quickly but told me today that she feels that finally she seems to be turning around and getting better.  She and I use to shop the scrapbook stores together, going from one to the next and then enjoying lunch out.  I so miss those times!  Hopefully, Diane, we will be able to get back to that soon.  So if you are reading this, my lovelies...please keep my friend Diane in your thoughts and prayers.  She is not only one of my best friends but also one of the most talented Artists I have ever met.

Stacey's Curtain Call, Act 50

Once again, here I am on stage for Staceys Curtain Call.   Each week I look forward to seeing what she

 has in store for us and this week certainly did not disappoint.  Her choice of colors were outstanding..so here is my entry for this challenge.  My supplies:  first of all my flowers, I made using my Sizzix 3 D die and the leaves were made using my Cricut.  The wonderful ribbon is from Bayberry Cottage, don't you just love it?  I used Stampin Up Ink, Garden Green and also their stamp. The red paper is from American Crafts, Bookshelf and the card stock from Bazill.  Thanks for having back on stage Stacey!

Pals Paper Arts #62

Ok, so here's the deal...  I was a rebel this week, I have a lot of buttons but I'm not a big fan... so I replaced my button with a snap... a snap eyelet.  After all, don't buttons and snaps fulfill the same purpose?   I compensated by using all the colors of the buttons in your inspiration bowl and then my snap.  Hope I don't get in trouble :)   So here is my card for Pals Paper Arts (PPA62 - All Snapped up) !  I love this challenge blog!  My supplies:  Stampin Up Stamp and Ink, Garden Green.  American Craft Ribbon.  My Flowers were made using my Sizzix 3 D die and the leaves using Cricut.  The snap and paper is from my "stash of wonderfulness".  Enjoy!

Once again the inspiration card for Case Study Challenge (#8) has blown me away and made me feel a bit insecure :)  But here I am, giving it another shot.  My supplies for this card are:  Stamps are from Making Memories Wedding, StampinUp Ink Mellow Moss, Flowers are from DoJiggies by Marcel Shuman.  Paper is from Bobunny, Petal Pusher Bloomers.  The Doilie is from Party Express, the Ribbon is from American Crafts.  I used the Sizzix die for the picket fence and mushroom brads are from my stash of wonderfullness.

First Craft Fair in Years Jitters

Tomorrow is the day, the craft fair.  I have not participated in a craft fair in years and to be honest I have never really done very well when I have.  The last time I sold these beautiful clocks that I made using chip board and scrapbook paper.  They were really pretty, and elegant.  A lot of Anna Griffin Paper and soft colors... if you know me at all you know I am pretty much about soft and simple things.  Anyway, I set up my table and it looked so pretty.  People all day long would pass by and tell me how beautiful my clocks were.  One person told me that I did not belong in a craft fair but should be in an art show.  That was quite a compliment but that person didn't even buy one of my 12.00 clocks.  So I am bit scared.

Why am I doing this...well...  someone contacted me through my ETSY store and asked me to join the event, they thought my work would fit well and I could also represent Memory Works.  So I said yes thinking it was so far away, perhaps they would forget about me or  I about them.  Well, neither of us forgot so tomorrow I am going to set up my table and displays and give it another shot.  I am not going in with high expectations, not that my work is not worthy or nice but as I said...I'm a bit scared.   I will bring a book to read and wonder around to other booths and talk to "my people".  I love crafters so!

Can You Handle This?

I almost couldn't handle the Color Throwdown Challenge #112 this week, not because it was difficult but because I was sooooooo blown away by the Design Teams Cards that I almost couldn't breath for a moment.  The colors for this challenge were really quite fun to work with...yes I loved it!  My supplies:  The ribbon is from Offray, the Stamps are Hero Arts, lots of ink from StampinUp, Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Really Rust and Only Orange.  The little bird is from 7 Gypsies, Chelsea brad.  Thanks for looking at my work!

Repeat Impressions S2210

The House that Stamps Built, Repeat Impression Sketch #S2210 for this month was something that sparked a memory when I was making quilts back in the day... sometimes we have to let our fabric work for us..in this case I let my paper work for me.  As you can see, I let the design in the Bobunny DP do some of the work :)  My supplies:  Stamp:  CTMH, Treasure Life, Ink:  Stampin Up, Old Olive and Taken with Teal, Paper: Bobunny Petal Pusher, Bloomers.  Thanks for stopping by and follow me if you please :)

Flutter by with butterflies

Flutter by Wednesday #24 presented us with a challenge of using butterflies, fairies or Angels with glitter and glitz.  I'm not a real glitzy girl but love to use my glitter glue when the opportunity presents itself, as it did here. I used lots of glitter glue on my butterfly and doily.  My stamps, I used Unity Stamps, Bevy of Butterflies and the ink was from Stampin Up, Mellow Moss, Bordering Blue and Blush Blossom.  The Paper I used is by Bobunny, Petal Pusher Garden.  The pearls are from Paperk Sticker and the Ribbon by Wrights.  I made the little rose using my 3 D die from sizzix.  The Doily is from Hallmark, Party Express.  Thanks for looking!

A nice way to start off the week

Woke up this morning to check in and found that I received an honorable mention from The Shabby Tea Room and was also a winner in 365 cards Blog...  what a way to start off a week.  It helps too because I am doing the first craft fair I have done in year on Saturday and I am a bit nervous.. this helped boost my confidence so much!  A special thanks to these blogs for recognizing me!
